For fans of the cinematic depiction of Marvel’s Civil War saga looking for an authentically crafted and ultra-poseable rendition of the star-spangled lead, the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Captain America Action Figure is a can’t-miss.
A stellar addition to Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts collection, Captain America is as detailed and extensively articulated as the rest of the company’s highly regarded and immensely popular action figure line-up (which includes the likes of Mace Windu, Mario, Predator and others). Captain America stands six inches tall and is built from ABS and PVS elements that have been cast and painted to capture the look of the iconic super soldier with notable fidelity. Complementing the faithfully realized design, the figure boasts twenty easy-moving joints (four per leg, four per arm, three in the torso, and one in the neck) which should delight collectors intent on putting the figure though its paces capturing the gamut of action stances seen onscreen. Facilitating the dynamic posing, Bandai’s Captain America is remarkably well balanced. The figure remains upright even with the legs and arms manipulated into a wide variety of superhero-action postures. If there’s a down side to the extensive articulation, it’s that without the benefit of being hidden beneath a fabric costume, the molded joints detract a bit from the overall look. However, given the sturdy build and wealth of features, the conspicuous joints are a modest compromise.
Adding to the appeal of the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Captain America Action Figure is the variety of extras that accompany it. In addition to interchangeable masked and unmasked head sculpts, Cap comes with his signature shield (two inches in diameter), a complement of eight swappable hands, and six support pieces that allow him to wield or prepare to throw it from either hand, or wear it mounted on his back as he does between onscreen bouts.
Marvel superhero collectors intent on getting their hands on the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Captain America: Civil War Action Figure can find it online from multiple retailers at prices that commonly range between $60 and $100 USD.
