Hot Toys’ Deadpool Sixth Scale Figure represents another stunning leap from the movie screen to an ultra-detailed collectible. Joining other figures in the acclaimed toy maker’s Movie Masterpiece Series (including Batman, Scarlet Witch, Thanos and others), Deadpool stands as the definitive depiction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fourth-wall breaking mercenary that discerning superhero fans absolutely need to own.
Out of the box (which is thoroughly display worthy), the incandescent awesomeness of Hot Toys’ Deadpool Sixth Scale Figure is immediately striking. The company’s creative team has delivered, once again, a screen-accurate costume that’s both intricate and thoroughly realized. The multi-part outfit consists of a textured and realistically weathered black and red fabric bodysuit (riddled with grime and bullet holes); a leather-like utility belt (complete with signature belt buckle); holsters and a leg-mounted knife sheath (all with fabric straps); and a pair of red and black boots.
While Deadpool’s mask and suit are not removable, it’s clear that the figure beneath them has been built to match the movie specifications of his mutated alter ego, Wade Wilson, as portrayed by actor, Ryan Reynolds. The nearly 13-inch tall figure boasts over thirty points of articulation though the form-fitting getup restricts the range of motion of the arms and legs and may get damaged if the figure’s limbs are manipulated extensively. Despite this limitation, there are plenty of alternate display options to choose from. In addition to twelve interchangeable gloved hands, the figure comes with five sets of individually swappable masked eye parts that can be changed out to present Deadpool with a range of expressions. While (fittingly) there’s no duffle bag stuffed with weapons, the figure comes ready to go commando with a wieldable dagger, dual 6.5-inch metal katanas (with a magnetized back-mounted double scabbard), a duo of throwing blades, and a matching pair of pistols. There’s also a special three-part dynamic figure stand with the Deadpool emblem and movie logo, which enhance the presentation.
Hot Toys’ exhaustively screen-faithful Deadpool Sixth Scale Figure joined the company’s jam-packed roster of must-have 2016 releases at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $234.99 USD. It’s a worthy splurge (and a fitting complement to Sideshow’s comic book version) that fans of Marvel’s iconic “merc with a mouth” should be sure to check out.
