The Kotobukiya Hawkeye Avengers Now! ARTFX+ Statue is a welcome addition to the collection of any fan of the ace superhero archer.
Inspired by Hawkeye’s look in the comic book pages rather than his appearance on the big screen, Kotobukiya’s figure is based the conceptual styling of legendary comic book artist, Adi Granov. Crafted by the renowned sculptor, Junnosuke Abe (RESTORE), Kotobukiya’s Hawkeye Avengers Now! ARTFX+ Statue faithfully captures the updated look of the superhero marksman as he appears throughout the pages of the popular Marvel Now! series of comics.
Like other figures in Kotobukiya’s popular Marvel Now! ARTFX+ statue collection (including fellow Avengers, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Thor and The Hulk), Hawkeye is a one-tenth scale “Snap Fit” pre-painted model kit. Following some simple assembly once it’s out of the box (which consists of connecting the lower body and left arm to the upper body) the figure stands roughly 7.5 inches tall. Clint Barton is rendered wearing the dusky sleeveless purple and black suit of his updated Marvel Now! alter ego, complete with a holstered pistol on his right thigh, dark shades, quiver (with a peg that fits to a hole on the figure’s back) along with his signature bow and six arrows. The sculpture captures Hawkeye in a dynamic archer’s pose with his bowstring drawn as he prepares to shoot an arrow. As with other Kotobukiya ARTFX+ statues, Hawkeye is built with magnets in the soles of his boots that adhere to the accompanying the 4-inch by 4-inch black base. The figure is balanced enough to remain upright on most level surfaces but the added support is a welcome addition for display-minded collectors.
While the Kotobukiya Hawkeye Avengers Now! ARTFX+ Statue is currently available for a range of prices in toyshops and online, it released in August 2014 at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $54.99 USD.
